ABOUT NATIONAL FILM AND TELEVISION INSTITUTE
The Ghanaian government created the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) in 1978 as a public institution of higher education in film and television production.
NAFTI’s facility is made up of three studios that are all within walking distance of each other in a calm Accra neighbourhood.
NAFTI has promoted professional and academic excellence in film and television education since its founding in 1978.
Over the years, the Institute has maintained its high level of performance, attracting students from all over Sub-Saharan Africa, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, South Africa, Swaziland, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. As a result, NAFTI’s graduates have had a significant impact on Ghana’s and Africa’s film and television industries.
